Use a strong, unique password for each account, and don’t share passwords with others.

Regularly update your software and apps to get the latest security fixes.

Phishing attacks are designed to trick you into sharing sensitive information.  Look for warning signs like unexpected emails, or texts, spelling errors, or mismatched links.

Protect your home network with a password, and be careful when using public Wi-Fi.  You can use a VPN to encrypt communications when using public Wi-Fi.

Do not share personal information like your address or birthday on social media.

Do not click on suspicious links or attachments. 

When shopping online, make sure the website is secure by checking for the “https://” prefix in the address bar and a padlock symbol.

Turn off Bluetooth when you’re not using it, and change your setting to “Not Discoverable”.

Back up important data like photos and documents to an external hard drive or cloud storage.
