Multi-factor Authentication
When you’re banking online with Gateway, you’re protected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by multi factor authentication (MFA) security. You can bank with absolute confidence that you’re safe online.
What is it?
In order to make your online banking experience as secure as possible, we introduced a new security feature that detects any uncharacteristic or unusual behavior involving your accounts. If anything out of the ordinary is detected, we will verify your identity.
How will it work?
Upon logging into our online banking site, we will remember your location and address. If we detect unusual activity from other locations, we will ask you to answer security questions to verify your identify.
How will I start using it?
When enrolling, you will be asked to select and answer a few questions. After you enroll, if unusual activity for your user account is detected, we will ask the questions you answered during enrollment.
Key information about policies for opening a new account at Gateway Bank:
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
